Sony Honda Mobility Debuts First Car with Built-In PlayStation Remote Play Support

Key Takeaways
- The Afeela 1 will feature PlayStation Remote Play for in-car gaming on PS4 and PS5 titles
- Requires minimum 5 Mbps internet, with 15+ Mbps recommended for best experience
- Launching in California in 2026, initially available only on the Signature trim
Sony Honda Mobility has announced an exciting new feature for its upcoming Afeela 1 car: integrated PlayStation Remote Play support. Unveiled at CES earlier this year, the Afeela 1 will become the first automobile to allow users to stream PlayStation games directly to the vehicle’s infotainment display and premium audio system. This means gamers can play any PS4 or PS5 title through the car’s screen and sound system, whether parked or moving (for passengers).
The system demands a minimum of 5 Mbps internet speed to function, though the manufacturer suggests more than 15 Mbps for a smoother, lag-free experience. Drivers can enjoy gaming during rest periods after parking, while passengers can play while the car is in motion. Initially, this feature will roll out in California in 2026 and will be exclusive to the Afeela 1 Signature trim; the base model is slated for production in 2027. Sony Honda Mobility also noted that certain Afeela features, including this gaming integration, may shift to a subscription model after an initial three-year grace period.
