Apple has recently launched the AirPods 3 in Nepal, bringing notable upgrades to its wireless earbud lineup. Building on features from the Pro model, the AirPods 3 now includes Spatial Audio and improved battery life, positioning itself as a compelling option for Apple users.

Design and Comfort

The AirPods 3 adopt a contoured in-ear design with a short stem, resembling the AirPods Pro but without silicone tips. Both earbuds and the charging case carry an IPX4 splash-resistant rating. Each earbud weighs just 4.28 grams, slightly heavier than the second generation but still lighter than the Pro version. The charging case tips the scales at 37.91 grams.

Key Features

Powered by the familiar H1 chip, the AirPods 3 introduces Spatial Audio, which tracks head movements to deliver a more immersive sound experience—a feature absent in earlier models. Adaptive EQ adjusts audio to compensate for frequency losses during transmission. Thanks to the H1 chip, users can seamlessly switch between Apple devices such as iPhones and MacBooks. A skin-detect sensor pauses audio when the earbuds are removed.

The earbuds incorporate dual-beamforming microphones that reduce ambient noise during calls and support hands-free "Hey Siri" commands. Siri can read notifications from Messages, Reminders, Calendar events, and incoming calls, and third-party apps can integrate this feature using a specific API. However, Active Noise Cancellation remains exclusive to the AirPods Pro series.

Battery Performance

Battery life has been enhanced, offering up to six hours of playback and four hours of talk time on a single charge, an increase of one hour over the previous generation. With the charging case, these durations extend to 30 hours of playback and 20 hours of talk time. Apple claims that just five minutes of charging can provide up to one hour of use. The case supports wireless charging via MagSafe or Qi-certified pads, alongside traditional Lightning connector charging.
