Apple's 14-inch MacBook Pro (2023) with M2 Pro and M2 Max Chips Now Available in Nepal

Apple has officially launched the 14-inch MacBook Pro (2023) in Nepal, bringing the company's latest M2 Pro and M2 Max chips to this popular professional laptop size. This model represents a significant upgrade over its predecessors, with substantial performance improvements and enhanced connectivity options.

The 14-inch MacBook Pro is available with two powerful processor options. The M2 Pro chip features a 10 or 12-core CPU, delivering up to 20% more performance than the previous M1 Pro, and can be configured with up to 19-core GPU, offering 30% faster graphics speeds. For even greater power, the M2 Max chip provides a 12-core CPU that is 20% faster than the M1 Max, paired with up to 38-core GPU for up to 30% better graphics performance. Apple claims that tasks like image processing in Adobe Photoshop are up to 40% faster on the M2 Pro and up to 80% faster than Intel-based models.

Memory configurations have also been expanded. The M2 Pro can be equipped with 16GB or 32GB of unified memory, while the M2 Max offers options of 32GB, 64GB, or 96GB, surpassing the previous maximum of 64GB on M1 Max models. Storage options now reach up to 8TB, with a minimum of 512GB available.

Connectivity has been significantly improved with the addition of Wi-Fi 6E support for faster wireless connections and HDMI upgraded to version 2.1, which supports resolutions up to 8K at 60Hz and 4K at 240Hz. The laptop retains three Thunderbolt 4 ports, along with an SDXC card slot and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The design and display remain largely unchanged from previous models, featuring an aluminum body that measures 8.71 inches thick and weighs approximately 1.6kg. The 14.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR screen maintains its 3024 x 1964 pixel resolution, 120Hz ProMotion refresh rate, and peak brightness of 1600 nits for HDR content. The laptop also includes a 1080p webcam and a high-fidelity six-speaker sound system.

Battery life is supported by a 70Wh Li-Po battery, claimed to provide up to 18 hours of movie playback. Charging adapters range from 67W for the M2 Pro with a 10-core CPU to 96W for other configurations.

In Nepal, the 14-inch MacBook Pro (2023) is available from authorized Apple stores. The base model with the M2 Pro, 10-core CPU, 16-core GPU, 16GB unified memory, and 512GB SSD is priced at NPR 295,000. The M2 Pro configuration with a 12-core CPU, 19-core GPU, 16GB unified memory, and 1TB SSD costs NPR 375,000. The top-end M2 Max model, featuring a 12-core CPU, 30-core GPU, 32GB unified memory, and 1TB SSD, is priced at NPR 470,000.
