For the first time in the Mac Mini line, the M2 Pro variant offers professional-grade power. It provides configurations with either a 10-core CPU and 16-core GPU or a high-end 12-core CPU with 19-core GPU. Memory options extend to 32GB, and storage can reach up to 8TB. Apple reports that the M2 Pro model achieves up to 2.5 times faster performance in Affinity Photo, 4.2 times quicker ProRes transcoding in Final Cut Pro, and 2.8 times faster gaming in Resident Evil Village versus the M1 Mac Mini.

Connectivity and Design

Alongside its processing upgrades, the new Mac Mini sees enhancements in connectivity. Every model now includes Wi-Fi 6E support. The M2 Pro version adds HDMI 2.1 and features four Thunderbolt 4 ports, doubling the count from the M2 model. Additional ports include two USB-A connections (up to 5Gb/s), one standard HDMI port, a Gigabit Ethernet jack, and a 3.5mm headphone jack for audio.

The design remains unchanged from earlier versions, preserving the familiar square shape with rounded edges. Constructed from a single block of milled aluminum, the device retains its slim profile and lightweight build, weighing 1.18kg for M2 models and 1.28kg for M2 Pro configurations.
