Asus Zenbook 17 Fold OLED Reappears in Nepal

The highly adaptable Asus Zenbook 17 Fold OLED has come back into stock across Nepal, offering buyers a chance to get one of the world’s first 17-inch folding laptops. First introduced internationally last year, this device brings unusual flexibility to the laptop category with its fully functional folding OLED panel.

Display and Design

The centerpiece of this laptop is its enormous 17.3-inch OLED screen, delivering sharp 2560 x 1920 resolution and 500 nits brightness in a 4:3 aspect ratio. When folded, the panel splits neatly into two 12.5-inch displays carrying a 1920 x 1280 resolution each in a 3:2 layout, enabling true 2-in-1 style usage. Users can choose from several operation modes: in laptop mode, half the screen serves as a display while the other half becomes a keyboard area; in desktop mode, the whole surface acts as a desktop display with any Bluetooth keyboard; and in extended mode, the screen folds vertically to maximize height. The device can even be held like a book and used as a tablet.

A physical keyboard is also offered as an optional add-on for a more conventional typing experience. Asus promotes this as its best-ever laptop keyboard, featuring a generous 19.05mm key pitch and 1.4mm travel distance. In desktop mode with a Bluetooth keyboard attached, the entire display area becomes available for work.

Built around a lightweight magnesium alloy frame and a glass rear panel etched with the Asus logo, the Zenbook 17 Fold weighs just 1.5 kilograms. Despite its folding nature and slim profile, it includes two Thunderbolt 4 ports and a headphone jack. Asus says its hinge mechanism has passed extensive testing and can endure more than 30,000 open-and-close cycles, enough for daily folding use over five years.

Performance and Battery

Under the hood, the laptop runs on an Intel Core i7-1250U from the Alder Lake U-series, a low-power processor ideal for slim devices. It features 10 cores (2 performance, 8 efficient) and can boost up to 4.7GHz. Memory consists of 16GB of soldered LPDDR5 RAM paired with a 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD. The system ships with Windows 11 preinstalled.

A sizable 75Whr battery sits inside, and Asus claims up to 9.5 hours of active use on a single charge. Power comes from a 65W adapter that connects through one of the Thunderbolt 4 ports.
