ASUS Unveils Zenbook A16 with Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme and Stunning OLED Display

ASUS has debuted the Zenbook A16 at CES 2026, marking one of the first laptops of 2026 to hit the market. This 16-inch model expands the company's ARM-based lineup and builds upon the successful A14 series, focusing on slim profiles and extended battery performance.

The Zenbook A16 boasts an incredibly portable design, weighing only 1.2 kg despite its large screen size. This lightness comes from ASUS's innovative Ceraluminum chassis material, which blends ceramic and aluminum for scratch resistance. The laptop is available in two sophisticated tones: Iceland Gray and Zabriskie Beige.

Powering the device is the Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme processor, classified as a Copilot+ PC. It packs 18 Oryon cores and includes a dedicated NPU capable of 80 TOPS, ideal for demanding AI tasks. The chip operates at a robust 65W TDP, and ASUS has implemented an advanced dual-fan cooling solution with special airflow channels through the keyboard, keeping noise levels below 25 dB during typical use.

The display sector shines with a 16-inch Lumina OLED panel offering a sharp 3K resolution (2880 x 1800) and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. HDR content enthusiasts will appreciate the peak brightness of nearly 1,100 nits. Thanks to the energy-efficient ARM architecture, ASUS projects over 21 hours of battery life from the updated 70WHrs battery, which should sustain through approximately 1,200 charging cycles.

Connectivity options include two USB4 Gen 3 Type-C ports, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, an HDMI 2.1 output, and a full-sized SD 4.0 card reader. The keyboard features 1.3mm key travel with durable Excimer-coated keycaps, while the touchpad has grown by 40% and supports smart edge gestures for quick adjustments.
