BlackBerry Motion Launches at $460 With Solid Battery and Classic Design

BlackBerry, once synonymous with secure and sophisticated devices, has launched the Motion, its latest attempt to regain ground in a market dominated by Android and iOS phones. After shifting to Android with the Priv in 2015, which included the iconic physical keyboard, the Motion moves forward without that feature.

The Motion sports a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS LCD display and is powered by the Snapdragon 625 processor. While not a high-performance chip, it is paired with a sizable 4,000 mAh battery, promising extended usage, and 4GB of RAM alongside 32GB of internal storage, which should cater to everyday needs. On the photography front, the phone carries a 12MP main camera with an f/2.0 aperture and an 8MP front camera for selfies. It runs on Android 7.1 Nougat, enriched with BlackBerry’s signature software touches.

Connectivity options include USB Type-C for charging and data, along with a traditional headphone jack. The device retains BlackBerry’s reputation for durability, featuring a robust build and IP67 certification for dust and water resistance. Priced at $460 (roughly Rs 50,000), the Motion hits shelves first in regions such as the UAE and Saudi Arabia, with broader availability expected later.

Interested buyers in Nepal will have to wait for local availability, but the phone’s combination of a long-lasting battery and classic BlackBerry aesthetics may appeal to certain users.
