Samsung Introduces 6-Month Screen Protection Plan for Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus in Nepal

Accidental screen damage remains one of the most common—and costly—issues smartphone owners face. A recent survey conducted by Motorola across six countries found that over half of all participants had cracked or broken their phone screen at least once. In many cases, repair costs for screen or glass replacements are prohibitively high, leading roughly 23 percent of users to continue using their devices despite visible damage.

In response to these concerns, Samsung Mobile Nepal has introduced a six-month breakage insurance plan for its latest flagship models, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus. Though these devices feature an attractive glass design on both the front and back, this also makes them more susceptible to damage. The insurance covers accidental breakage of the screen or glass from any direction, ensuring that owners can receive genuine parts replaced swiftly, typically within two to three days.

Under this plan, customers pay only the actual repair cost if it falls below NPR 6,000. For repairs exceeding that amount, the owner’s responsibility is limited to NPR 6,000, with Samsung covering the remainder. In cases where the device sustains irreparable damage—such as being struck by a motorcycle or car—the insurance provides a full replacement unit rather than a repair.

This initiative has been praised as a thoughtful move by Samsung Mobile Nepal. It allows users to enjoy the premium aesthetics of the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus without needing heavy protective cases, reducing anxiety associated with everyday use. Industry observers suggest that such protection plans could become standard offerings from other manufacturers, benefiting consumers worldwide.
