CMF Headphone Pro Debuts in Nepal with Extended Battery Life

Nothing has expanded its audio lineup with the launch of the CMF Headphone Pro, now available in Nepal. This over-ear headset brings a modern aesthetic paired with strong performance, making it a compelling option for listeners who value both style and longevity on a single charge.

The CMF Headphone Pro sports a round, minimalist design constructed primarily from plastic, offered in dark gray, light gray, and light green finishes. It weighs approximately 283 grams and includes larger, softer ear cushions that should enhance comfort during extended use. Despite supporting a wired 3.5mm connection, the headphones must remain powered on, which results in continuous battery consumption.

Audio performance is driven by 40mm dynamic drivers with nickel-plated diaphragms, capable of Hi-Res Audio playback and the LDAC codec for wireless streaming up to 990 kbps. An Energy Slider on the left earcup lets users physically adjust bass and treble levels, offering a more pronounced low-end when slid up or a mellower sound when slid down. Additional sound profiles such as Pop and Techno are accessible through the Nothing X app, with a Personal Sound feature that tailors audio to the user’s hearing profile in real time. While spatial audio is supported, head-tracking functionality is not included.

Noise cancellation is handled by adaptive ANC, which the brand claims reduces noise by up to 40dB using three microphones on each side. Users can select from three ANC presets tailored to different environments, though some reviews indicate that high-frequency sounds may not be fully blocked. A transparency mode is available but is reported to be less refined than that of the flagship Nothing Headphone (1).

The control layout places a 3.5mm jack, basic buttons, and the Energy Slider on the left earcup, while the right houses a USB-C charging port, a volume roller, and a customizable button. The roller manages volume, play/pause functions with a short press, and ANC toggling with a long press. The button can be configured as an AI shortcut for ChatGPT access, listening mode switching, or microphone muting. Unfortunately, the lack of a wear sensor means that music does not automatically pause when the headphones are removed, requiring manual intervention to stop playback.

Battery life stands out as a key highlight, with CMF advertising up to 100 hours of playback with ANC disabled and around 50 hours with ANC enabled. Fast charging is also notable, providing four to five hours of use from just five minutes of charging. The headphones can be charged directly from a smartphone via USB-C, a convenient feature for travelers.

Connectivity is managed through Bluetooth 5.4, with support for a low-latency mode that reduces end-to-end delay to under 120 milliseconds, ideal for gaming and video applications. The headset also features dual-device pairing, Google Fast Pair for Android, standard pairing for iOS, and Microsoft Swift Pair for Windows. Water resistance is rated at IPX2, which is typical for headphones in this price range.
