Dell Launches New G Series Gaming Laptops with 8th Gen Processors

Dell has rolled out its new G series laptops, targeting gamers with enhanced performance powered by Intel's latest 8th generation processors. This series replaces the previous Inspiron gaming line and includes three distinct models: the G3, G5, and G7, designed to accommodate a wide range of budgets and requirements.

The G3 is available in both 15-inch and 17-inch sizes, featuring full HD IPS matte displays. It can be configured with Intel i5-8300H or i7-8750H processors, paired with either a GTX 1050 or GTX 1050Ti GPU. Despite its affordable pricing starting at $749 for the 15-inch model and $799 for the 17-inch variant, the G3 uses a plastic build and has basic keyboards and touchpads. It also includes a 56Whr battery, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and optionally Thunderbolt 3.

Stepping up, the G5 retains the 15-inch form factor but offers an optional 4K UHD matte IPS display alongside the same processor and GPU choices as the G3. It improves connectivity with 802.11ac 2x2 Wi-Fi and measures 0.98 by 15.32 by 10.82 inches, weighing around 2.65kg. The G5 starts at $799 and will be available from April 3.

The flagship G7 model, also 15 inches, stands out with the addition of the powerful i9-8950HK processor, clocking up to 4.8GHz, while maintaining the same GPU options. It supports both full HD and UHD resolutions and fits into a compact 0.98 by 15.32 by 10.82-inch chassis. Pricing for the G7 begins at $849, also available from April 3.

All three models provide flexible storage solutions, including M.2 SSDs ranging from 128GB to 512GB and 2.5-inch HDDs from 500GB to 1TB. Connectivity features across the series include HDMI 2.0, USB 3.1, an SD card reader, RJ45 LAN, and a headphone/mic combo port, with Thunderbolt 3 available as an option on the G3.
