DJI has officially launched the Air 3 drone in Nepal, bringing a powerful yet affordable option for drone enthusiasts. Building on the success of earlier models, the Air 3 introduces a dual-camera system and extended flight time, positioning it as a strong contender in the mid-range drone market.

The Air 3 features two high-quality cameras, each equipped with a 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor. The wide-angle camera offers a 24mm equivalent focal length with an f/1.7 aperture, while the medium telephoto camera provides a 70mm equivalent focal length and an f/2.8 aperture, including 3x optical zoom for detailed close-ups. Both cameras share the same sensor size and pixel dimensions, ensuring consistent image quality across shots.

In video mode, the drone supports dual native ISO for 4K/60fps HDR recording and can capture up to 4K/100fps slow motion without field-of-view cropping. It also offers 10-bit D-Log M and HLG color modes for greater flexibility in post-production, along with 2.7K vertical video recording, ideal for social media content.

One of the standout features of the Air 3 is its impressive flight time of up to 46 minutes on a standard battery, representing a 48% increase over the previous Air 2 model. It comes very close to the Mini 3 Pro's Intelligent Flight Battery Plus in terms of endurance. The new battery charging hub supports power accumulation, allowing users to transfer energy between batteries when no power source is available.

Safety has been significantly enhanced with omnidirectional obstacle sensing. The Air 3 includes fisheye lenses for forward, backward, left, right, and upward detection, along with binocular lenses and a 3D TOF sensor at the bottom. Combined with APAS 5.0 (Advanced Pilot Assistance System), the drone can actively detect and avoid obstacles in flight. Additional features such as ActiveTrack and Advanced RTH (Return to Home) provide fully automated flight control and easy returns.

For transmission, the Air 3 utilizes DJI O4 technology, offering a stable video link up to 20 kilometers with support for 1080p/60fps live feeds. This ensures a smooth and responsive live view experience during flights.

The DJI Air 3 is now available in Nepal as part of the Fly More Combo. The model with the RC-N2 controller is priced at NPR 220,000, while the version with the RC 2 controller costs NPR 247,000. Both options can be purchased from authorized DJI stores across the country.

Key specifications include dimensions of 207×100.5×91.1 mm when folded, a takeoff weight of 720 grams, and a battery capacity of 4241mAh. The drone can reach speeds of up to 21m/s horizontally and 10m/s vertically or downward, with a maximum operating altitude of 6000 meters.
