DJI Avata Drone Launched in Nepal With New Combo Options

The DJI Avata FPV drone has arrived in Nepal, offering enthusiasts a compact yet powerful flying platform. Previously sold only as a Pro-view combo, the Avata is now also available in a Fly Smart Combo, broadening its appeal to a wider audience.

The Avata boasts a sophisticated camera system reminiscent of the Mini 3 Pro, featuring a single 48MP CMOS sensor with a 155-degree field of view and a 1/1.7-inch optical format. This sensor supports ISO ratings from 100 to 25,600 and shutter speeds ranging from 1/50s to 1/8,000s. It utilizes 4-in-1 pixel binning for enhanced image quality and can record 4K video at 60 frames per second, along with 2.7K and 1080p at up to 120 frames per second. The drone also includes gimbal stabilization with RockSteady and HorizonSteady modes for steady footage.

In terms of operation, the Avata provides three distinct flight modes: Normal, Manual, and Hybrid. Normal mode operates using satellite navigation or visual positioning systems, similar to other DJI drones. Manual mode, accessible only with the FPV Remote Controller 2, grants full control for an immersive first-person view experience. Hybrid mode merges the dynamic movement of Manual mode with the safety features of Normal mode.

Powering the Avata is a compact 2420mAh battery, which DJI claims delivers approximately 18 minutes of flight time at a speed of 27 meters per second. This allows the drone to cover a maximum distance of about 11.6 kilometers during that period.

In Nepal, the DJI Avata is available in two combo packages. The Fly Smart Combo, priced at NPR 195,000, includes the drone itself along with the DJI Goggles V2 and the DJI Motion Controller. For those seeking additional features, the Pro View Combo is available for NPR 248,000.

The Avata measures 180 by 180 by 80 millimeters and has a takeoff weight of 410 grams. Its internal storage capacity is 20GB, providing ample space for captured media.
