DJI has launched the Pocket 2, the follow-up to its popular OSMO Pocket camera, and it is now available for purchase in Nepal. This portable 4K gimbal camera builds on its predecessor with several notable enhancements.
The Pocket 2 adopts a modular design that allows users to attach various accessories to its removable base plate. It measures 124.7 x 38.1 x 30mm and weighs 117 grams, remaining small enough for pocket or bag carrying. The camera features a larger 1/1.7-inch CMOS sensor, up from the 1/2.3-inch sensor in the original model, with an effective resolution of 64 megapixels. Users can capture photos in either 16MP or 64MP modes, and record video up to 4K at 60 frames per second at 100Mbps bitrate.
A Hybrid 2.0 autofocus system combines phase and contrast detection for faster, more accurate focusing. The audio experience is bolstered by DJI's Matrix Stereo System, which uses four microphones positioned away from the hand-holding area. Features such as Directional Audio, SoundTrack adjustment, and Audio Zoom improve sound capture during recording.
The Pocket 2 includes several intelligent shooting modes: Pro Mode for manual control, ActiveTrack 3.0 for subject tracking, Slow Motion up to 8x at 1080p, Timelapse, Hyperlapse, Motionlapse, 180-degree and 3x3 panoramas, livestreaming to Facebook, YouTube and RTMP, and Story Mode with preset movements, color profiles and music for quick social media sharing.
DJI also offers a range of accessories, from a charging case and waterproof housing to additional lenses, an extension rod, a wireless microphone set, and various modular attachments such as a Micro Tripod base, Do-It-All handle, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth module, speaker, audio jack and wireless microphone receiver.
The DJI Pocket 2 is priced at NPR 52,000 in Nepal, which includes a mini control stick, 1/4-inch tripod mount, wrist strap, cover, power cable and adapters. It is currently available at Oliz Store.
