DJI, a leading name in drone technology, has expanded its lineup with the introduction of the RS 3 and RS 3 Pro gimbals, now available in Nepal. These devices build on the capabilities of the Ronin 4D camera, featuring a third-generation stabilization system that delivers a 20 percent performance increase, simplifying complex shots and angles.

The RS 3, succeeding the RSC 2, is a compact solution weighing 1.3 kilograms and capable of handling up to 3 kilograms of payload. It introduces axis-locking technology that automatically deploys on power-up, removing the need for manual rebalancing between takes. An integrated Bluetooth shutter button enables wireless recording starts, while SuperSmooth mode provides extra stabilization for shots using lenses up to 100mm zoom. The device sports a larger 1.8-inch OLED touchscreen, allowing users to adjust settings directly without relying on a smartphone app. A dedicated gimbal mode switch simplifies toggling between FPV modes, pan follow, pan, and tilt follow. Power comes from a new battery grip offering up to 12 hours of use, and the battery is user-replaceable.

The RS 3 Pro shares many of these features but is tailored for larger camera setups, supporting a payload of up to 4.5 kilograms while weighing just 1.5 kilograms. It incorporates the Ronin 4D's LiDAR focusing technology, simplifying work with manual lenses and, when combined with an improved focus motor, enabling auto-focus on such lenses. DJI's proprietary ActiveTrack Pro system enhances subject detection and tracking, ensuring stable and focused shots even in challenging conditions.

Current pricing in Nepal places the RS 3 at NPR 105,000 for the standard package, though it is currently out of stock. The RS 3 Pro is priced at NPR 142,500, also currently unavailable, with a combo package option listed at NPR 158,000 to NPR 168,000. Both gimbals can be purchased through authorized DJI retailers in the country.
