Fasto Brings Ultra-Fast Commerce to Kathmandu
Fasto is positioning itself as Nepal's first quick commerce platform, promising deliveries within 10 minutes for customers in the Kathmandu Valley. Though still in beta testing ahead of its official launch, early trials have produced promising results.
The company operates on a "dark store" model, maintaining ten strategically placed micro-warehouses throughout the valley. Its main fulfillment center spans 6,000 square feet and stocks thousands of products from multiple brands. Nine additional smaller stores, each between 1,500 and 2,500 square feet, support rapid order processing.
During our beta evaluation, we placed several test orders to assess real-world performance. A beer order arrived within 14 minutes, while deliveries to Pulchowk and an office location were completed in under 16 and 6 minutes respectively. These times prove remarkably swift given Kathmandu's notorious traffic conditions.
Fasto's streamlined approach skips traditional order confirmation calls seen on platforms like Foodmandu, instead pushing orders directly to riders to meet its speed targets. The emerging service also creates new earning chances for delivery personnel through frequent, time-sensitive dispatches.
As Fasto prepares for full deployment, it could significantly reshape shopping habits and set new standards for rapid delivery across Nepal.
