Garmin Introduces the Bounce 2 Smartwatch Designed for Children

Garmin has introduced the Bounce 2, a smartwatch specifically built for kids, featuring a fresh design and expanded functionality to help parents monitor their children more effectively. The device sports a playful look with large, colorful side buttons and comes in three appealing color options: Slate Gray, Light Purple, and Turquoise, marking a notable shift from the original Bounce's square form factor.

Constructed with a fiber-reinforced polymer bezel and case, the Bounce 2 is both durable and lightweight, weighing just 26.5 grams without the band and 40.4 grams with it. It carries a 5 ATM water resistance rating, making it suitable for swimming. The watch utilizes a 1.2-inch AMOLED display, offering a crisp 390 by 390 pixel resolution, a significant upgrade over the previous model's LCD screen.

Battery life remains at approximately two days on a single charge, powered through Garmin's proprietary charging plug. The Bounce 2 supports real-time location tracking, voice calls, text messaging, voice messages, and location check-ins. New additions include voice transcription and support for multiple satellite navigation systems beyond GPS, such as Glonass, QZSS, and Beidou. Full access to these features, however, requires enrollment in Garmin's LTE subscription service, priced at USD 9.99 per month.

For safety, the device features incident detection alerts sent to the Garmin Jr. app and tracks various activities, including running, cycling, swimming, skiing, and team sports. Basic health monitoring functions like sleep tracking and step counting are also included, alongside the ability for children to stream music via Amazon Music.

In the United States, the Garmin Bounce 2 is priced at USD 299.99, roughly double the cost of its predecessor. While an official release in Nepal has not been confirmed, the expected price if launched would be around NPR 50,999.
