Honor X7b Review: A Stylish Budget Phone with Endurance Limits

Honor's X7b makes a solid attempt to appeal to budget-conscious buyers with its eye-catching appearance and impressive battery life. The phone sports a shimmering, color-changing back design that stands out in any lighting condition, and its 6,000 mAh battery easily lasts more than a day even with moderate to heavy use. However, the experience is held back by a 90Hz TFT LCD display that lacks the depth and contrast of modern AMOLED panels, and a Snapdragon 680 chipset that feels underpowered for anything beyond basic tasks.

The 108MP main camera produces decently sharp photos in bright conditions, though low-light performance suffers from softness and haze. Video recording tops out at 1080p at 30 frames per second without stabilization. Honor's MagicOS 7.2 based on Android 13 feels generally stable but lacks some customization options and will only receive updates up to Android 15.

Where the X7b really shines is battery endurance. With a 6,000 mAh cell and 35W fast charging, the phone easily lasts a day and a half on a single charge, and can recharge to 95% in under an hour. It also offers 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, keeping most apps responsive.

In comparison to key rivals like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 and Samsung Galaxy A15, the X7b struggles to justify its position. The Redmi Note 13 matches the performance while offering a smoother 120Hz AMOLED display and more balanced stereo speakers. The Galaxy A15, though slightly more expensive, delivers more consistent and colorful photos. For most users, these alternatives provide better overall value in the crowded 20-30,000 NPR market.
