Huawei Device Nepal has officially launched the GR5, a midrange smartphone now available locally for NRs.34,000. This model mirrors the Honor 5X released in India recently, though at a higher Nepal-specific price.

The GR5 sports a 5.5-inch FullHD IPS LCD screen paired with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 chipset, which includes a dual quad-core setup (1.7GHz + 1.2GHz) and an Adreno 405 GPU. It offers 2GB of RAM alongside 16GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD up to 64GB. The device features a 13MP primary camera with smart image processing and a 5MP front-facing shooter equipped with a wide-angle lens and blue glass filter.

Designed in a slim 0.8mm aluminum uni-body, the GR5 feels premium and includes a practical fingerprint sensor on the rear for rapid 0.5-second unlocks. This sensor also lets users answer calls, silence alarms, view notifications, and capture photos without unlocking the phone first. Power comes from a non-removable 3000mAh battery supporting quick charging 3.0.

Connectivity options include dual SIM 4G support (micro + nano), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, and MicroUSB 2.0. The phone ships with Android 5.1 Lollipop and Emotion UI 3.1, with an expected update to Marshmallow on the way.

The GR5 is offered in White, Black, and Gold variants, measuring 151.3 x 76.3 x 8.15mm.
