Huawei has officially introduced the Mate X7, its latest innovation in foldable smartphones, bringing notable enhancements over its predecessor. The device arrives with a thinner, lighter build, improved durability, and a suite of advanced features designed to elevate the foldable experience.

The Mate X7 sports a durable aluminum frame and a more compact form factor, weighing just 235 grams and measuring 9.5mm when folded and 4.5mm when unfolded. It achieves IP58 and IP59 ratings for dust and water resistance, marking a significant upgrade from earlier models. Consumers can choose from four color options: Black, White, Purple, and Red.

Equipped with two high-quality LTPO OLED displays, the phone features a 6.49-inch cover screen with a 20.4:9 aspect ratio and an impressive 8-inch main foldable screen with an 8:7.3 aspect ratio. Both panels support variable refresh rates ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz, along with 1,440Hz PWM dimming for smooth and responsive visuals.

Photographically, the Mate X7 packs a robust setup including a 50MP main RYYB sensor with adjustable aperture (f/1.4 to f/4.0) and optical image stabilization, a 50MP telephoto lens offering 3.5x optical zoom, and a 40MP ultra-wide camera. Selfies are handled by dual 8MP cameras situated on both the cover and inner screens.

Under the hood, the device is powered by Huawei’s latest Kirin 9030 Pro processor, built on a nine-core ARMv8 architecture, paired with HarmonyOS 6 for seamless performance tuning. Memory configurations include 12GB, 16GB, and 20GB of RAM, accompanied by storage options of 256GB, 512GB, and a massive 1TB.

Battery life receives a boost with a 5,600mAh dual-cell Silicon-Carbon battery, supporting fast 66W wired charging and convenient 50W wireless charging. The phone also incorporates satellite connectivity for emergency use in areas without cellular coverage, alongside standard 5G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth support.

Although the Mate X7 launched in China on December 5 with a starting price of CNY 12,999, Nepal is expected to see the device hit shelves with an estimated starting price of NPR 365,000 for the base 12GB + 256GB model. Higher configurations, including a collector’s edition, will push prices up to around NPR 505,000.
