Huawei has officially launched the Nova 15 series in China, with the Nova 15 Pro sitting between the standard Nova 15 and the Ultra model. The Pro variant shares the Kirin 9010S chipset with the Ultra, boasts a larger display than the base model, and packs a 6,500 mAh battery with 100W fast charging.
The Nova 15 Pro features a stunning 6.84-inch LTPO OLED screen with a resolution of 1320 x 2856 pixels and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The display supports HDR Vivid, 2160Hz PWM dimming, and reaches a peak brightness of 4,000 nits, making it noticeably brighter than the base Nova 15. Depending on the model, the display is protected by either Aluminosilicate glass or Kunlun Glass.
In terms of design, the phone is sleek at 6.9mm thick and weighs 202g. It combines a glass front, an aluminum alloy frame, and an aluminum back. The rear camera module adopts a horizontal layout similar to the Nova 15 Ultra, featuring two circular units within a rectangular island. The device also carries an IP68/IP69 rating for dust and water resistance, surpassing the base model's rating.
Under the hood, the Nova 15 Pro is powered by the Kirin 9010S chipset, built on a 7nm process. This processor includes a 12-core CPU configuration with one 2.3GHz Taishan core, three 2.18GHz Taishan cores, and four 1.55GHz Cortex-A510 cores. Huawei states that this setup delivers an 18% performance boost over the Nova 14 Ultra, although it still trails behind top-tier Qualcomm or MediaTek chips due to manufacturing constraints.
The camera system includes a triple rear setup with a 50MP main sensor (f/1.8 aperture, OIS), a 12MP telephoto lens (f/2.4 aperture, OIS, 3x optical zoom), and a 13MP ultrawide sensor (f/2.2 aperture, 120° field of view). Additional sensors include a laser autofocus and a color spectrum sensor. On the front, users will find a 50MP selfie camera accompanied by a 1.5MP multispectral sensor. The device can record video up to 4K with gyro-EIS and HDR Vivid support.
Battery life is a strong point with a 6,500 mAh cell and 100W wired charging, representing a 500 mAh increase over the base Nova 15. However, unlike the Ultra model, the Pro does not support wireless charging.
Running on HarmonyOS 6.0, the Nova 15 Pro includes satellite connectivity, stereo speakers, an optical in-display fingerprint sensor, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, and an IR blaster. It also utilizes virtual proximity sensing in place of a physical sensor.
The phone will go on sale in China on December 27, 2025, priced at CNY 3,499. If it launches in Nepal, expectations are for a starting price of no less than NPR 70,000, making it a compelling option in the local market.
