Huawei has expanded its premium smartwatch lineup with the launch of the Watch Ultimate 2, a robust companion designed specifically for divers and adventure seekers. Building on its predecessor, this model extends diving capability to 150 meters and introduces a pioneering sonar-based communication system for underwater use.

The Watch Ultimate 2 sports an octagonal design with a case made from zirconium-based liquid metal, available in either Compass Black or Ocean Blue finishes, both paired with nanocrystal ceramic bezels and sapphire glass. It weighs 80.5 grams without the strap, making it considerably heavier than the recently released GT 6 Pro. The 1.5-inch LTPO AMOLED display boasts an impressive peak brightness of 3,500 nits and thinner bezels than its predecessor.

A standout feature is its integrated sonar module, enabling users to send preset messages and emojis to fellow Ultimate 2 wearers within a 30-meter underwater radius. In emergencies, the SOS function can reach up to 60 meters when relayed by another diver. The system supports pairing with up to 50 dive companions to form underwater networks, although real-world performance may vary due to environmental factors.

For diving, the watch supports depths up to 150 meters and employs the Bühlmann ZHL-16C decompression algorithm, widely used in professional dive computers. It provides depth tracking, decompression limits, ascent rate warnings, and gas mixture calculations suitable for recreational, technical, scuba, and free diving. Beyond diving, the device includes expedition features such as dual-frequency GPS across five satellite systems, offline maps, route import, high-altitude adaptation alerts, and fall detection. Golf enthusiasts will appreciate access to over 17,000 course maps with detailed layouts and ball trajectory tracking.

Battery life stands at around 4.5 days with typical Android use or 3.5 days with iOS, dropping to three days (Android) or 2.5 days (iOS) with always-on display enabled. Specific modes include 18 hours of dive time (12 hours with sonar active), 40 hours in expedition mode, and 24 hours for golf.

Key specifications include a 1.5-inch LTPO AMOLED display with 3,500 nits peak brightness, support for Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6, and eSIM, along with a range of sensors for health and environmental tracking. The watch works with the Huawei Health app and offers wireless charging.

The Huawei Watch Ultimate 2 launched globally on September 19, 2025. In Europe, pricing starts at €899 for the Compass Black model, with an early-bird discount of €100 available until October 7. The Ocean Blue version retails for €999. When it reaches Nepal, expectations are for the base model to start at no less than NPR 125,000, with the Ocean Blue variant likely priced around NPR 140,000.
