iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro: Features, Specs and Nepal Pricing Update

Apple introduced the iPhone 12 series in 2020, bringing notable upgrades such as a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with 2532 x 1170 pixel resolution and Ceramic Shield protection for improved durability. The device features an aerospace-grade aluminum frame and IP68 water resistance, weighing 164 grams.

The iPhone 12 is built for 5G connectivity, offering the widest global 5G coverage at launch, with Smart Data Mode to optimize network switching and data usage. Under the hood, it utilizes the A14 Bionic chipset, a 5nm process Hexa-core processor that delivers 50% faster CPU and GPU performance along with an 80% faster 16-core Neural Engine capable of 11 trillion operations per second.

Camera capabilities include a 12MP wide lens with f/1.6 aperture and OIS, plus a 12MP ultra-wide lens with 120-degree field of view. Both cameras benefit from enhanced computational photography, Night mode, Deep Fusion, and Smart HDR 3, with the ability to record Dolby Vision HDR video at 4K up to 30 frames per second.

In Nepal, only the 128GB version of the iPhone 12 remains available through authorized retailers at NPR 106,990, which includes a genuine VAT bill and one year of breakage insurance. The iPhone 12 Pro, previously offered at NPR 156,100 for the 128GB model and NPR 172,700 for 256GB, has been discontinued locally.

Key specifications for both models include a 6.1-inch OLED display, A14 Bionic processor, dual SIM support with nano and eSIM, and 5G connectivity. The iPhone 12 Pro additionally featured a stainless steel frame, 6GB RAM, up to 512GB storage, a 12MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, and a LiDAR scanner, but is no longer in stock.
