Updated Nepal Prices for iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR Models

Apple introduced three new iPhone models in mid-September 2018: the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR. These devices brought powerful performance and advanced features to the market and remain available in Nepal, with recent price adjustments following the launch of newer iPhone generations.

The iPhone XS Max stands out as the largest of the trio, featuring a spacious 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display, which Apple labels as a Super Retina screen. This panel supports wide color gamut and HDR10, resulting in deep blacks, vibrant colors, and strong contrast. Weighing 208 grams, the XS Max adopts a durable design with a glass back and stainless steel frame, and it holds IP68 certification for dust and water resistance.

Under the hood, the XS Max is powered by the Apple A12 Bionic chipset, a cutting-edge 7nm processor that remains competitive even after over a year on the market. Paired with 4GB of RAM, performance remains smooth for everyday tasks and gaming. Storage options include 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB, with no microSD card slot available.

Camera capabilities on the XS Max include a dual 12MP setup: one wide-angle lens with an f/1.8 aperture and one telephoto lens with an f/2.4 aperture, both featuring optical image stabilization and phase detection autofocus. A single 7MP camera sits at the front within the display notch. The device is sustained by a substantial 3174mAh battery, offering lasting endurance for heavy users and supporting both wired and wireless fast charging.

In contrast, the iPhone XS presents a more compact form factor with a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED display, matching the XS Max in resolution and design details such as the notch size and overall aesthetics. It shares the same A12 Bionic processor and 4GB of RAM, along with identical camera hardware. However, the XS carries a smaller 2658mAh battery compared to the XS Max, though it still provides a full day of use under typical conditions.

Positioned as an accessible option, the iPhone XR adopts a 6.1-inch IPS LCD display, which, while not an OLED panel, delivers strong color accuracy and brightness at a lower price point. The XR is equipped with a single 12MP rear camera featuring optical image stabilization, capable of producing portrait images through software enhancements despite lacking a dual-camera arrangement. Its front camera mirrors the other models with a 7MP sensor placed within the notch.

The XR benefits from a larger 2942mAh battery, which, combined with its lower-resolution display, results in extended battery life. However, the box includes only a 5W charger, requiring users to purchase a fast charger separately if desired. Like its counterparts, the XR runs on the A12 Bionic chipset and the latest iOS at the time of release.

Current pricing in Nepal reflects recent updates as of April 2020. The iPhone XS Max begins at NPR 159,000 for the 64GB model, rising to NPR 175,000 for 256GB and NPR 215,000 for the 512GB variant. The iPhone XS starts at NPR 139,000 for 64GB, with the 256GB model priced at NPR 159,000 and the 512GB version at NPR 185,000. The iPhone XR, the most budget-friendly of the group, starts at NPR 80,000 for 64GB, climbing to NPR 90,000 for 128GB and NPR 112,000 for 256GB.

All three models retain key features such as IP68 (XS and XS Max) or IP67 (XR) water and dust resistance, Dolby Vision and HDR10 compliance, stereo sound, and 4K video recording capabilities. Despite being superseded by newer iPhone lines, these devices remain relevant options for buyers seeking powerful performance in various form factors and price ranges.
