Samsung Unveils Updated Galaxy J2 Pro for 2018

Samsung has quietly updated its popular entry-level Galaxy J2 Pro smartphone for 2018, bringing a fresh design and notable specification upgrades while keeping its budget-friendly positioning intact. Last year’s model earned praise for delivering solid performance in the under-15,000 NPR category, offering features like an AMOLED display, a selfie flash, and 4G connectivity that set it apart from similarly priced rivals.

The 2018 version receives a visual refresh that aligns it more closely with Samsung’s current J series aesthetic, resembling a compact version of the well-received J7 Pro. Though the phone sports a plastic back with a metallic finish, its standout upgrade is a 5-inch Super AMOLED panel, stepping up from the standard AMOLED found in the previous generation. Performance is handled by an unspecified quad-core processor running at 1.4GHz, likely either the Snapdragon 425 or Exynos 7570, paired with an unusual but proven 1.5GB of RAM.

Connectivity remains strong with dual SIM 4G support and, notably, a dedicated microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 128GB — a feature still rare in this price bracket in 2018. The camera setup includes an 8MP rear shooter and a 5MP front camera, both equipped with LED flash for better low-light performance.
