Key Takeaways

  • New 8.8-inch WUXGA OLED display with 144Hz refresh rate and HDR TrueBlack 1000 certification
  • Powered by AMD Ryzen Z2 or Z2 Extreme processors with Radeon 890M graphics
  • 74Wh battery offers 50% more capacity than its predecessor, promising longer runtime

Lenovo has announced the Legion Go 2, the follow-up to last year's Legion Go handheld console. While the device keeps the same overall design and size, it brings several meaningful upgrades over its predecessor.

The display has moved from an IPS panel to an 8.8-inch WUXGA OLED screen that boasts a smooth 144Hz refresh rate and HDR TrueBlack 1000 certification, delivering richer colors and deeper blacks. This visual leap comes with a small trade-off in weight, as the device now tips the scales at roughly 920 grams, largely due to the larger battery.

Under the hood, the Legion Go 2 is powered by AMD's Ryzen Z2 or Z2 Extreme processors, paired with Radeon 890M integrated graphics. It supports up to 32GB of fast LPDDR5X RAM running at 8000MHz and offers up to 2TB of PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage, with additional expansion possible through a microSD card reader.

Battery life receives a substantial boost with a 74Wh pack, representing a 50% increase over the original model's 49.2Wh battery. This should translate into noticeably longer usage times for users. The device also includes dual USB4 ports, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a fingerprint reader built into the power button for added security.

The detachable TrueStrike game controllers have been redesigned for improved comfort and now utilize hall-effect joysticks to minimize drift issues. Audio features dual 2W speakers and dual microphones, while the whole system runs on Windows 11 Home.

The Legion Go 2 is expected to start shipping in select markets, including India, in October 2025, with a starting price of INR 92,600.
