LG Unveils 2026 Gram Series Laptops with Lightweight Design and AI Features

LG Electronics has announced the 2026 Gram laptop series, continuing its tradition of ultra-portable designs with a focus on durability and advanced technology. The new lineup introduces Aerominum, a lightweight magnesium-aluminum alloy borrowed from aerospace applications, which enhances both weight savings and structural strength. The laptops also boast improved scratch resistance, with performance gains of over 35 percent compared to earlier versions, while still meeting military-grade durability standards.

The series includes several models, such as the LG Gram Pro 17, which manages to fit a 17-inch WQXGA IPS display into a chassis similar in size to a 16-inch laptop. It pairs an RTX 5050 GPU with Intel Core Ultra processors, though this variant is limited to North America. The LG Gram Pro 16 stands out as the lightest 16-inch laptop in its class, featuring an OLED display with WQXGA+ resolution for vivid colors and deep blacks, powered by an AMD Ryzen AI 400-series processor.

Certain models support a dual AI system that combines local processing with cloud services, enabling features such as document summarization, translation, and contextual responses without an internet connection. This on-device AI runs on LG’s EXAONE 3.5 language model. Battery life reaches up to 27 hours of video playback on the 16-inch Pro model, with fast charging providing over 9 hours of use after just a 30-minute charge.

While the 2026 Gram series launches in South Korea from January 6, there is no official confirmation yet for availability in Nepal, though updates will follow if they become available.
