Looki L1 AI Wearable Camera Debuts in China with Automated Vlogging Capabilities

Looki has introduced the L1 AI wearable camera in China following its earlier global release. Designed as an "AI life manager," this portable device continuously records daily activities and uses artificial intelligence to automatically produce vlogs or highlight reels. Unlike traditional cameras, the L1 can be attached to a shirt collar or worn as a necklace, making it ideal for hands-free content creation.

The Looki L1 boasts an extremely compact form factor, measuring just 50.53 × 16.84 × 48.02mm and weighing only 32 grams, which makes it noticeably lighter than competing products such as Meta's Ray-Ban smart glasses. Constructed from soft, skin-friendly materials, the camera comes with both a magnetic clip and a lanyard for versatile wearing options. It also carries an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance and is offered in Black, White, and Green colorways.

Equipped with a 16mm-equivalent wide-angle lens featuring an f/2.2 aperture and a 109-degree field of view, the L1 supports 4K photo resolution and 1080p video recording at 30 frames per second, including electronic image stabilization and HDR processing. Its core function involves passive recording activated by motion sensing and scene detection through a built-in six-axis gyroscope. Once activated for the day, the device automatically records short clips at regular intervals. In the evening, Looki's proprietary AI analyzes these clips to generate a polished vlog or highlights reel.

Audio capabilities include a triple-microphone array with intelligent noise reduction for clear voice capture, plus a 1W integrated speaker featuring a Smart PA system. Through voice commands, users can interact with the Looki AI assistant, ask questions, or request information about objects within view, with responses played back via the speaker. An AI-powered smart search function lets users describe moments they want to retrieve, and the system will pull up relevant clips. Recordings are automatically sorted into "Moments" collections and compiled into a private, AI-curated journal called "Life Feeds," which identifies patterns and themes from daily recordings.

Storage consists of 32GB of internal memory, with data saved locally by default; cloud uploading requires explicit user permission. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.0 and dual-band WiFi supporting both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks. Power comes from a 375mAh battery that fully charges in approximately 1.5 hours. Battery endurance varies by recording mode: up to 9 hours when capturing 5-second clips each minute, 11 hours for 9-second clips every two minutes, or 13 hours for 11-second clips every three minutes.

One notable difference from competitors like Ray-Ban Meta glasses is the absence of a constant recording indicator light, which may raise privacy concerns given the device's always-recording nature, even though all data remains stored locally unless explicitly uploaded. The Ray-Ban glasses display a white LED when active, providing a clear visual cue that recording is occurring.

Currently available in China for CNY 1,499, the Looki L1 is not yet confirmed for Nepal, though projections suggest it could launch here at NPR 45,999 or higher if it arrives in the near future.
