The Meizu 22, successor to the Meizu 21, has officially launched with several upgrades while also being more affordable than its predecessor. The device sports a new camera module design and a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED display that offers 1,800 nits of full-screen brightness and an impressive 6,000 nits of HDR brightness, along with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and super-thin bezels for a 94.6 percent screen-to-body ratio.
Under the hood, the Meizu 22 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset and runs Flyme AIOS 2 based on Android 15. It comes with options for 12GB or 16GB of RAM and storage options up to 1TB. The battery has been upgraded to a sizable 5,510 mAh unit, supporting 80W wired charging, along with new 66W wireless and 10W reverse wireless charging capabilities.
On the camera front, the Meizu 22 features a 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultrawide shooter, and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and OIS, marking an upgrade over the Meizu 21, which lacked a dedicated zoom lens. The front camera has also been upgraded to a 50MP sensor. Although the primary camera resolution has been reduced from 200MP to 50MP and 8K video recording is no longer supported, the overall camera experience sees notable improvements.
