  • The lineup targets various budgets, potentially challenging competitors like Xiaomi and Samsung

Meizu, a well-established smartphone brand from China, is preparing to re-launch in Nepal through the distributor Prism Technologies. Previously, the brand had struggled to gain traction here, but the new initiative aims to change that with four new models set to arrive soon. The upcoming devices include the entry-level Meizu C9, the improved Meizu M6T, the mid-range focused Meizu Note 9, and the high-end contender Meizu 16Xs.

The Meizu C9 is designed for budget-conscious users, featuring a compact 5.45-inch HD+ display, powered by a quad-core Unisoc SC9832E processor, and running Android 8 Oreo with Flyme UI. It comes with 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage, a 13 MP rear camera, an 8 MP front camera, and a 3,000 mAh battery.

Stepping up, the Meizu M6T offers enhancements over the C9, with two RAM options at 3 GB and 4 GB, and storage choices of 32 GB or 64 GB. It is equipped with an octa-core MediaTek MT6750 processor, runs Android 7 Nougat with Flyme UI, and includes a dual-camera setup consisting of a 13 MP main lens and a 2 MP depth sensor, paired with an 8 MP front camera and a 3,300 mAh battery.

The Meizu Note 9 positions itself as a mid-range powerhouse, utilizing a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 chipset, available with 4 GB or 6 GB of RAM, and 64 GB or 128 GB of storage. It sports a 6.2-inch Full HD+ display, a dual rear camera setup with a 48 MP primary lens and a 5 MP depth sensor, a 20 MP selfie camera, and a sizable 4,000 mAh battery supported by 18W fast charging.

The standout model, the Meizu 16Xs, boasts premium features including a 6.2-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display, the same Snapdragon 675 chipset, 6 GB of RAM, and 64 GB or 128 GB of storage. It features a triple-camera arrangement with a 48 MP main lens, an 8 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 5 MP depth sensor, along with a 16 MP front camera. The device includes an under-display fingerprint sensor and a 4,000 mAh battery with 24W fast charging support.

If priced competitively, the Meizu 16Xs could pose a serious challenge to current market leaders from Xiaomi and Samsung, offering high-end specs and features at potentially attractive price points.
