Micromax, the Indian smartphone brand, has entered the Nepali market with three entry-level devices: the Bolt Q397, Bolt Q381, and Bolt Q346. Though these models are nearly a year old, they provide basic functionality at very accessible price points.

The Bolt Q397, the top model in this group, features a 5.5-inch IPS LCD screen with a 720p resolution and a density of 267 ppi. Under the hood, it uses a Spreadtrum SC7731 chipset paired with a 1.4 GHz quad-core CPU and a Mali 400 GPU. It includes 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, expandable up to 32GB through a microSD card. The camera setup consists of an 8-megapixel rear shooter and a 2-megapixel front camera. Power comes from a 2650 mAh battery, and notably, it does not support 4G connectivity. This model is priced at Rs. 10,560 and comes with a free back cover.

The Bolt Q381 offers a slightly smaller 5-inch IPS LCD display with a lower resolution of 480p and a pixel density of 196 ppi. It is powered by a Spreadtrum SC7731G chipset with a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and also includes 1GB of RAM. Storage remains at 8GB with the same 32GB expansion option. Its camera setup includes a 5-megapixel main camera and a VGA front camera, backed by a 2000 mAh battery. This version is priced at Rs. 8,415 and also includes a complimentary back cover.

The Bolt Q346, the most affordable option, has a 4.5-inch IPS LCD display and uses a MediaTek MT6735 chipset with a 1.3 GHz quad-core CPU and a Mali T720 GPU. It also features 1GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable storage up to 32GB. The camera setup mirrors the Q381 with a 5-megapixel rear camera and a VGA front camera, supported by a smaller 1700 mAh battery. This model costs Rs. 6,380 and similarly includes a free back cover.

All three devices run on older versions of Android (Marshmallow, Lollipop, or KitKat depending on the model) and represent straightforward, no-frills options for users seeking very budget-friendly phones.
