Motorola Unveils Moto X70 Air: World's Thinnest 5G Smartphone

Motorola has expanded its portfolio with the launch of the Moto X70 Air, a semi-premium smartphone that claims the title of the world’s thinnest 5G phone. Measuring just 5.3 millimeters in thickness, the X70 Air combines a sleek aesthetic with solid performance, making it an appealing option for users who value both style and substance.

The phone’s standout feature is its incredibly slim profile, achieved through an aviation-grade aluminum frame and a nano-leather back finish. Despite its thinness, it retains durability with an IP68/IP69 rating and meets military-grade robustness standards. The display delivers an immersive experience with a generous 6.7-inch flat OLED panel, offering a sharp 2712 x 1220 pixel resolution, a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, and a dazzling peak brightness of 4,500 nits.

Under the hood, the Moto X70 Air is powered by the latest Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, paired with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and storage options extending up to 512GB via UFS 3.1. This setup provides a noticeable performance boost over its predecessor, and heat is managed efficiently by a 3D vapor chamber. The device ships with Android 16, ensuring a fresh and updated user interface.

Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the dual 50MP rear camera setup, which includes a main sensor with a variable aperture ranging from f/1.4 to f/1.7 and an ultra-wide lens. A 50MP camera handles selfies, offering versatile shooting options. The slim design does not compromise battery capacity, as the phone houses a respectable 4,800mAh battery. It supports fast 68W wired charging and convenient 20W wireless charging.

Although the Moto X70 Air is currently listed for pre-order in China, its global release—expected under the name Motorola Edge 70—has yet to announce an official price. When it arrives in Nepal, projections suggest a starting price of no less than NPR 85,000, positioning it competitively in the premium mid-range market.
