MSI Raider GE78 HX with Mystic Light Bar Launches in Nepal

MSI has launched the Raider GE78 HX in Nepal, the successor to last year's GE77 HX model introduced at CES 2023. This gaming laptop builds on its predecessor with Intel's 13th Gen Raptor Lake processors and updates across the display, cooling, and audio systems.

The Raider GE78 HX is powered by Intel's latest 13th Gen Core processors, configurable up to the high-performance Core i9-13980HX, which boasts 24 cores (8 Performance and 16 Efficient) and maximum clock speeds of 5.6GHz and 5.2GHz respectively. MSI claims a 45% performance increase over the previous year's Core i9-12900HX. Graphics options include the RTX 4070 at 140W, RTX 4080 at up to 175W, and the flagship RTX 4090 also at 175W, with all i9 configurations supporting MSI OverBoost Ultra Technology for up to 250W combined CPU-GPU power.

Cooling is handled by MSI's CoolerBoost 5 system, featuring six heat pipes including shared CPU-GPU pipes and a dedicated VRAM pipe. The laptop stands out with its new Mystic Light Bar, replacing last year's smooth aurora light bar with a customizable matrix design. Users can personalize both the light bar and the per-key RGB keyboard via MSI Center or SteelSeries GG software. The keyboard now includes translucent WASD and arrow keys.

The laptop sports a sleek all-black aluminum chassis with the iconic red MSI dragon emblem. It houses a 17-inch IPS display offering options of 240Hz QHD or 165Hz FHD with a taller 16:10 aspect ratio for added vertical workspace. Power comes from a substantial 99Wh four-cell battery, with RTX 4090 and 4080 models using a 330W adapter and RTX 4070 models a 280W adapter.

Connectivity includes three USB-C ports, two USB-A ports, HDMI, an SD card reader, RJ45 Ethernet, and a combined audio jack placed across the sides and rear. Audio is enhanced by a six-speaker setup with four woofers, tuned by Dynaudio.

In Nepal, the MSI Raider GE78 HX is available exclusively in the Core i7-RTX 4070 configuration, priced at NPR 345,000. This model includes 32GB DDR5 RAM and a 2TB SSD. It comes with a 2-year international warranty and a complimentary Stealth Trooper backpack. The laptop is now available through authorized MSI retailers.
