Samsung Orders Full Recall of Galaxy Note 7 Over Safety Fears

Samsung has formally confirmed widespread reports that the Galaxy Note 7's batteries can catch fire and even explode, leading the company to issue a complete worldwide recall of the device. The decision comes after multiple safety incidents and follows earlier rumors that Samsung was delaying shipments for extra testing.

In an official statement, Samsung declared, "Samsung is committed to producing the highest quality products and we take every incident report from our valued customers very seriously." The investigation uncovered a critical battery cell flaw. As of September 1, 35 fire-related cases had been reported internationally, prompting Samsung to stop all Note 7 sales immediately. Customers who already purchased the device will receive a replacement over the next few weeks.

"Customer safety is Samsung's absolute priority," the company emphasized, acknowledging that the recall would create market disruption but stating it was necessary to uphold product quality standards. Samsung is coordinating closely with partners to make the exchange process as smooth as possible.

This development is especially disappointing for Nepali consumers, who had been eagerly anticipating the Note 7 since its international release on August 19. The recall pushes back the local launch date indefinitely.
