Nothing Ear Stick Arrives in Nepal
Nothing has introduced the Ear Stick, its second generation of true wireless earbuds following the original Ear 1. The launch comes after a preview at Chet Lo's SS23 London Fashion Week and is now available in the Nepali market. This release brings a fresh design language and updated features to the brand’s audio lineup.
Design and Build
The Ear Stick moves away from the slab-style appearance of its predecessor, adopting a cylindrical form reminiscent of a lipstick tube. This shape promises improved portability and a sleek, modern profile. In keeping with Nothing’s signature style, the earbuds and charging case showcase a transparent build, allowing users to see internal components. The earbuds use a half-in-ear design, similar to the approach seen in Apple’s AirPods 3.
Because of this half-in-ear fit, the Ear Stick does not include active noise cancellation. However, each bud integrates three microphones to deliver Clear Voice Technology, which aims to reduce wind and crowd noise during calls. The earbuds are lightweight at just 4.4 grams each and carry an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance. Users can control playback, adjust volume, and invoke voice assistants through touch-sensitive gestures on the buds.
Audio Performance and Connectivity
Nothing highlights its custom 12.6mm driver as the centerpiece of the Ear Stick, promising the company’s most advanced audio experience so far. The driver delivers authentic sound with minimal distortion and enhanced detail across frequencies. The earbuds incorporate Bass Lock technology, which automatically detects any bass loss when worn and tweaks the equalizer to maintain deep, punchy bass response.
For wireless connections, the Ear Stick supports Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair protocols. Nothing has rebranded its companion app to “Nothing X,” expanding its scope to accommodate new products. The app provides an updated equalizer, low-latency mode, Bass mode, and other customization options. Users of the Nothing Phone 1 can also access many settings directly through the device’s Bluetooth menu.
Battery and Additional Features
The Ear Stick offers a total playback time of 29 hours when used with the charging case, with each bud providing up to 7 hours of listening on a single charge. Fast charging is supported, with ten minutes of charging yielding approximately 90 minutes of playtime. It is worth noting that, unlike the original Ear 1, the Ear Stick’s case does not support wireless charging.
