Nothing Phone (2) Arrives in Nepal With Bold Upgrades and Attractive Offers
The Nothing Phone (2) is now officially available in Nepal, marking a significant step forward for the brand under its new distributor, Chaudhary Group. Prebooking opened on April 10, 2024, and the device brings several enhancements over its predecessor, combining a striking design with powerful performance.
Design and Display
Retaining the glass-sandwich design of its predecessor, the Phone (2) features a recycled aluminum frame and a slightly curved back for improved ergonomics. It is slightly thicker and heavier due to a larger screen and battery. The device boasts IP54 dust and water resistance, a step up from the IP53 rating of the Phone (1).
The display is a 6.7-inch OLED panel with 10-bit color support and LTPO technology, which adjusts the refresh rate for better battery efficiency. It offers a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling, and a sharp resolution of 2412 x 1080 pixels at 394 ppi. The screen supports HDR10+, reaches 1000 nits for outdoor use, and peaks at 1600 nits in HDR mode, while also holding SGS Low Blue Light certification.
Performance and Memory
Powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, an octacore processor built on a 4nm process, the Phone (2) delivers flagship-level performance. The Adreno 730 GPU provides a 30% graphics boost over the previous generation. Memory options include 8GB or 12GB of RAM paired with 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB of storage, with the larger storage capacities reserved for the 12GB RAM variant.
Camera Capabilities
Camera capabilities have been upgraded with a primary 50MP Sony IMX890 sensor and a 50MP Samsung ISOCELL JN1 ultrawide sensor, both featuring OIS. The Phone (2) can now record 4K video at up to 60 frames per second, an improvement over the 30 frames per second of its predecessor. The selfie camera has also seen an upgrade to a 32MP Sony IMX615 sensor. Features include Advanced HDR, Motion Capture 2.0, Super-res Zoom, Night Mode, and Document Mode.
Battery Life and Software
The Phone (2) houses a larger 4700mAh battery, supporting 45W PPS fast charging that can fully charge the device in approximately 55 minutes, a notable improvement over the 70 minutes required by the Phone (1). Wireless charging remains at 15W, with 5W reverse charging. Running on Nothing OS 2.0 based on Android 13, the device promises three years of major OS updates and four years of security patches. Security features include an in-display fingerprint sensor and face recognition.
Price and Availability
The Nothing Phone (2) is priced at NPR 75,699 for the 12GB/256GB model and NPR 83,299 for the 12GB/512GB variant. The first 20 customers to purchase from CG Mobiles will receive a complimentary pair of CMF Buds Pro.
The device is now available for prebooking and will begin shipping soon through CG Mobiles.
