Nubia Fold Debuts in Japan With an 8-Inch Display and Flagship Power

Nubia has officially introduced the Fold in Japan, joining the Flip3 in the company’s latest lineup. This device emphasizes a premium large-screen experience, utilizing an 8-inch main OLED panel alongside a secondary 6.5-inch OLED cover display, each offering a smooth 120Hz refresh rate.

The Fold adopts a book-style foldable design, measuring 144 by 160 by 5.4 millimeters when open and 73 by 160 by 11.1 millimeters when folded, weighing just 249 grams. It carries an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance and is offered solely in black. Biometric security includes both a side-mounted fingerprint sensor on the power button and facial recognition.

Under the hood, the Fold is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, an octa-core processor with speeds of 4.32 GHz and 3.53 GHz. It pairs this with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, running on Android 15 out of the box. The device integrates several AI-driven features such as an AI call assistant that allows text responses when busy, call translation and transcription services, an AI meeting translator, and a gaming assistant tailored for specific titles. Additional connectivity perks include support for tethering up to 10 devices via Wi-Fi, emergency alert functionality, and international roaming capabilities.

For photography, the Fold boasts a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 5MP macro lens. Selfie options include a 20MP camera on the main display and another 20MP camera on the cover display. The phone also provides features such as auto-focus, image stabilization, and various creative modes.

A robust 6,560 mAh battery fuels the device, supported by 55W fast charging over USB-C PD/PPS. Connectivity options encompass nanoSIM and eSIM support, 5G with a maximum downlink speed of 2.6 Gbps, 4G with a top speed of 838 Mbps, Bluetooth 6.0, Wi-Fi 6E, GPS, NFC for mobile payments, and infrared communication.

The Nubia Fold launched in Japan on December 4, 2025, priced at JPY 178,560 and available exclusively in black. While currently limited to the Japanese market, the device is expected to expand to other regions in 2026, with an anticipated Nepalese debut price of NPR 164,999.
