Oppo A6i Debuts in China With Rugged Design and Massive 6000mAh Battery

Oppo has launched the A6i in China as part of its entry-level series, focusing on durability, a large battery capacity, and 5G support. The device is built with what Oppo calls a Diamond Shield Frame, combining strengthened glass and high-strength aluminum alloy, measuring 7.99mm thick and weighing 194 grams. It carries an IP65 dust and water resistance rating along with SGS 5-star drop certification for added protection.

The A6i sports a 6.56-inch LCD display with a resolution of 1604 x 720 and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. While LCD panels are common in this segment, Oppo claims the screen remains responsive even with wet, oily, or gloved fingers. Under the hood, the phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, a common choice in budget 5G devices that handles everyday tasks and light gaming adequately.

Photography duties are managed by a 50MP main camera accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor, which may not significantly enhance image quality. The front camera offers an 8MP sensor suitable for social media and video calls, with AI features such as portrait mode, dual-view video, object removal, and pixel-level zoom upscaling.

A standout feature is the massive 6000mAh battery, incorporating graphite cells and electrolyte recovery technology, paired with 45W SuperVOOC fast charging that can reach 50% in about 37 minutes, even in cold conditions. Oppo estimates up to 22 hours of talk time or 19 hours of video playback from a single charge.

The device runs on ColorOS 15, integrating AI tools like handwriting recognition, English tutoring, and math correction, alongside family safety features, health tracking, regional alerts, and fraud detection. Connectivity options include 5G, and the phone supports standard security methods such as PIN, pattern, and face unlock.

In China, the Oppo A6i starts at 899 yuan for the base model, with expected pricing in Nepal beginning around NPR 21,500. The phone arrives in three variants: 6GB RAM with 128GB storage, 8GB RAM with 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM with 256GB storage.
