Oppo Pad Air 5 Debuts in China With 120Hz Display and Robust Battery

Oppo has officially launched the Pad Air 5 in China, a tablet that shares its core hardware with the OnePlus Pad Go 2. Despite the similarities, the Pad Air 5 brings its own branding and a few unique touches, such as a special "Soft Light" display variant. The tablet features a 12.1-inch LCD screen with a sharp 2.8K resolution, a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 900 nits, covering 98% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. For those who prefer reduced glare, Oppo offers a nano-etched "Soft Light" version. The device is slim, measuring just 6.83mm and weighing around 597 grams, with a combination of metal and plastic construction.

Under the hood, the Pad Air 5 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Ultra processor, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage options. It runs on ColorOS 16, which introduces features for easier file transfers and sharing across devices within the Oppo ecosystem. The tablet is available in both Wi-Fi-only and 5G cellular models. On the camera front, it sports 8MP sensors on both the front and rear, capable of recording videos up to 1080p. A sizable 10,050mAh battery fuels the device, supporting 33W SuperVOOC fast charging, while a quad-speaker system handles audio duties.

In China, the Oppo Pad Air 5 starts at CNY 1,899 and will go on sale on December 31. For the Nepali market, the base 8GB + 128GB variant is expected to start at NPR 46,500, with higher configurations reaching up to NPR 66,200 for the top-tier 12GB + 256GB "Soft Light" model.
