Realme 10 Review: A Solid Budget Smartphone for Everyday Use

The Realme 10 makes a strong case for itself as a budget-friendly smartphone, offering a combination of solid performance, a vibrant display, and a long-lasting battery, all within an attractive design. Priced at Rs. 29,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, it targets users seeking reliable everyday performance without breaking the bank.

Performance is a key highlight, with the MediaTek Helio G99 processor delivering noticeable improvements over its predecessor. While it does not quite reach the advertised 40% performance boost in benchmarks, real-world usage shows smoother gameplay and multitasking capabilities. Games like PUBG Mobile run at 40fps on Balanced graphics, and Call of Duty Mobile supports 60fps in multiplayer mode. However, demanding titles such as Genshin Impact still struggle, which is expected at this price point.

The software experience is generally smooth, thanks to Realme UI 3.0 on Android 12, though the lack of planned updates and some pre-installed bloatware are drawbacks. The UI remains responsive, and the 90Hz refresh rate contributes to a fluid navigation experience.

The display is another standout feature, featuring a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED panel with a 90Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling rate. It delivers vibrant colors, deep contrasts, and wide viewing angles, making it ideal for media consumption. Photo quality is acceptable in well-lit conditions but suffers in low light, and video recording lacks stabilization. The 16MP front camera produces decent selfies, though with some imperfections in edge detection.

Despite its shortcomings, the Realme 10 presents a compelling package for budget-conscious buyers. Its attractive design, impressive display, and strong performance make it a worthwhile option, particularly when considering the limitations of other phones in the same price range.
