Realme Unveils Buds Air 8 with Advanced Noise Cancellation and Enhanced Audio Features

Realme has recently launched the Buds Air 8 earbuds in India, alongside its Realme 16 Pro series smartphones. These budget-friendly earbuds come packed with impressive features such as dual drivers, LHDC 5.0 codec support, and robust noise cancellation capabilities.

The Buds Air 8 utilize a dual-driver configuration, combining an 11mm driver for deep bass response with a 6mm driver handling mids and highs. Supporting SBC, AAC, and the high-performance LHDC 5.0 codec, these earbuds achieve Hi-Res Audio certification and offer exceptional audio clarity with sampling rates up to 96kHz and transmission speeds of up to 1000kbps. Realme has also integrated a NextBass algorithm to enhance low-frequency output and included 3D spatial audio using HRTF-based processing for an immersive listening experience.

Noise cancellation is a standout feature, with the Buds Air 8 offering up to 55dB of active noise reduction. A unique aspect is its Ear Canal Adaptive ANC, which tailors noise cancellation to the user's ear shape and fit, alongside real-time adjustments to ambient noise levels. Users can select from three ANC modes—balanced, deep, and mild—through the Realme Link app. The six-microphone system, featuring three mics per earbud, ensures clear voice pickup even in windy or rainy conditions, making it ideal for outdoor call handling.

Connectivity is handled by Bluetooth 5.4, providing a range of up to 10 meters and support for pairing with three devices simultaneously. The earbuds also feature Swift Pair for quick connections with PCs and a low-latency gaming mode with a 45ms response time.

Realme has integrated AI capabilities, including an AI Live Translator that supports face-to-face translation in over 30 languages and an AI Voice Assistant 2.0 powered by Google Gemini, capable of providing weather updates, answering general knowledge queries, and offering basic advice.

Battery life is solid, with each earbud housing a 62mAh battery and the charging case holding 530mAh. Realme claims the earbuds can deliver up to 14 hours of playback on a single charge and extend that to 58 hours with the charging case. A full charge takes approximately one hour for the earbuds alone and two hours for both the earbuds and case. The Buds Air 8 also carry an IP55 rating for dust and water resistance.

The Realme Buds Air 8 will be available in three color options: Master Grey, Master Gold, and Master Purple. In India, the earbuds are priced at INR 3,799, with a launch discount bringing the price down to INR 3,599. For the Nepali market, the expected price is NPR 6,100.
