Realme GT8 Debuts in China With Advanced Display and Robust Performance

Realme has recently unveiled the GT8 in China, marking a significant evolution in its flagship smartphone lineup. The GT8 distinguishes itself with a unique robot-like back camera module, available in a circular design for this variant, and is constructed from a silicone leather material that mimics paper-like recycled leather. The phone carries an impressive IP66/IP68/IP69 rating, including the ability to remain submerged up to 2 meters for 30 minutes.

The display sector sees a notable upgrade with an LTPO AMOLED panel that offers QHD+ resolution and a smooth 144 Hz refresh rate. Users can expect peak brightness levels reaching 4000 nits and a high brightness mode of 2000 nits for enhanced outdoor visibility.

Under the hood, the GT8 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, a substantial leap from its predecessor, the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+. This processor is supported by up to 16GB of RAM and storage options extending up to 1TB via UFS 4.0 technology. The device runs on Realme UI 7.0, built on Android 16, ensuring a smooth and feature-rich user experience.

In terms of battery life, despite a reduction in charging speed from 120W to 100W, the GT8 still houses a substantial 7000mAh battery, which Realme claims can reach a full 100% charge in just 45 minutes.

The camera setup includes a robust configuration with a 50MP main sensor featuring Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), complemented by a 50MP periscope telephoto lens that supports up to 3.5x optical zoom and an 8MP ultrawide camera. For selfies, the device boasts a 16MP front camera. The imaging system is further enhanced by Ricoh GR technology, ensuring exceptional image quality with minimal reflectivity and customizable film tones.

Connectivity options are comprehensive, including Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, an IR sensor, and USB-C with OTG support, ensuring the device remains future-ready.

Regarding pricing, the Realme GT8 starts at CNY 2,899 for the 12GB/256GB variant in China. While specific details regarding global variants remain uncertain, the expected price in Nepal begins at NPR 57,199 for the equivalent configuration. The device is available in three color options: white, navy, and green.
