Realme, operating independently but still linked to Oppo for certain resources, has announced a new sub-brand called D within its TechLife division. This initiative targets the artificial intelligence and internet of things market, aiming to develop a range of connected home products.
The company has not yet revealed the full name of the D sub-brand, using the letter as a placeholder for its initial phase. Realme plans to work with innovative partners to create products that meet high demand, feature consistent design, and deliver superior quality and user experiences. In return, Realme will provide research and development support, manage supply chains, and ensure product quality.
Realme TechLife shared on Twitter that the D brand originated from a dream, leading to discoveries in design and development that aim to produce something different. The first products under this new brand will launch globally on May 25, 2021, alongside the activation of dedicated website and social media channels.
Madhav Sheth, CEO of Realme for India and Europe, emphasized that the company will back its partners on the TechLife platform with products, R&D, supply chain management, and quality assurance, while allowing them to select their own original equipment manufacturing partners.
