Redmi Note 12 Pro Arrives in Nepal With Premium Features

Xiaomi has officially launched the Redmi Note 12 Pro in Nepal, just days after its global debut. This mid-range smartphone brings high-end features such as a MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chipset, a 50MP Sony OIS camera, and a 10-bit AMOLED screen to the local market.

The device retains the popular glass sandwich design seen in previous Note models, with a flat frame and a punch-hole cutout for the front camera. Its 6.67-inch AMOLED panel delivers Full HD+ resolution, a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, and adjustable refresh rate modes. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and can reach a peak brightness of 900 nits. For the first time in the Note series, Redmi includes Dolby Vision and HDR10+ certification, enhancing the viewing experience.

Biometric security comes via a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and the phone is offered in White, Frosted Blue, and Onyx Black color options.

Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the triple rear camera setup, led by a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor with optical image stabilization. This is paired with an 8MP ultra-wide lens offering a 120-degree field of view, plus a 2MP macro camera. The main lens supports 4K video recording at 30 frames per second, while a 16MP selfie camera sits in the punch-hole cutout.

Under the hood, the Dimensity 1080 chipset powers the device. Built on a 6nm process, this 5G processor features two high-performance Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.6GHz and six energy-efficient Cortex-A55 cores at 2GHz. Graphics are handled by the ARM Mali-G68 MC4 GPU. The phone pairs this with either 6GB or 8GB of DDR4X RAM and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It runs Android 12 with MIUI 13 on top, and users can expect two years of OS updates and three years of security patches in Nepal.

A sizable 5000mAh battery fuels the device, supporting fast charging at 67W. Additional features include an X-linear vibration motor, dual stereo speakers, and a range of connectivity options such as 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and USB Type-C.

Currently, the Redmi Note 12 Pro is priced at NPR 38,999 for the base 6GB/128GB model and NPR 41,999 for the higher-end 8GB/256GB variant. However, both options are presently out of stock.
