Redmi Pad Debuts in Nepal at Rs. 34,999

Xiaomi has officially launched the Redmi Pad in Nepal, marking the company's return to the budget tablet segment. The device offers a 10.61-inch IPS LCD screen with 2K resolution and an impressive 90Hz refresh rate, a feature rarely found in tablets at this price point. Measuring 250.38 by 157.98 by 7.05 millimeters and weighing 445 grams, the tablet features an all-metal construction and comes in three color options: Graphite Grey, Moonlight Silver, and Mint Green.

Under the hood, the Redmi Pad is powered by the MediaTek Helio G99 processor built on a 6nm process, combining two Cortex-A76 cores and six Cortex-A55 cores for efficient performance. It is available with 3GB, 4GB, or 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of internal storage, with the option to expand storage up to 1TB using an SD card. The tablet runs Android 12 out of the box with Xiaomi's MIUI for Pad interface, which includes features such as multi-window support, floating windows, and split-screen functionality. Xiaomi has committed to providing two years of Android updates and three years of security patches for this model.

For multimedia, the Redmi Pad includes a quad-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos for an enhanced audio experience. Camera capabilities include an 8MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera with a 105-degree field of view and FocusFrame technology, which automatically adjusts the frame to keep subjects in focus. The tablet is equipped with an 8000mAh battery and supports 18W fast charging, though a 22.5W charger is included in the box.

Connectivity options consist of dual-band WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.3, and USB Type-C. Sensors on board include an accelerometer, light sensor, magnetometer, gyroscope, and color temperature sensor. Security features include face unlock, although there is no fingerprint sensor.

The 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant of the Redmi Pad is priced at Rs. 34,999 in Nepal and is currently available through authorized Xiaomi retailers. The package includes the tablet, power adapter, USB-A to USB-C cable, quick start guide, and warranty card.
