ASUS and NVIDIA Introduce the ROG Swift 360 Monitor with 360Hz Refresh Rate

In a major leap for gaming monitor technology, ASUS and NVIDIA have revealed the ROG Swift 360 ahead of this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The monitor boasts an incredible 360Hz maximum refresh rate, paired with a 1080p resolution, making it a high-performance option designed for competitive gamers.

The 24.5-inch display, supplied by AU Optronics, is reported to use a TN panel, similar to previous high-speed models. While full technical specifications have not been disclosed, the companies highlight that this monitor is 50% faster than existing 240Hz models, marking a significant generational upgrade of 120Hz.

NVIDIA confirms that the ROG Swift 360 will feature true G-Sync technology, enabling complete variable overdrive functionality, which is crucial given the wide range of refresh rates. Despite some skepticism about the practical benefits of a 360Hz refresh rate—given that current 240Hz monitors already provide a frame time of 4.16ms—NVIDIA maintains that the performance gains justify the higher specification.

The monitor is currently on display at CES 2020, but it is not expected to be available for purchase until the latter half of the year. As such, pricing details remain undisclosed, and there may still be adjustments to iron out any technical challenges before launch. Enthusiasts attending CES will get their first live look at what could become the future of gaming monitors.
