Samsung Galaxy A55 5G Arrives in Nepal with Powerful Exynos 1480 Processor

Samsung has officially introduced the Galaxy A55 5G in Nepal, the latest addition to its A-series lineup and successor to the popular Galaxy A54. This new mid-range smartphone brings notable upgrades in performance and display technology, positioning it as a strong contender in the under NPR 70,000 segment.

The Galaxy A55 5G is powered by Samsung's collaboration with AMD, the Exynos 1480 chipset, fabricated on a 4nm process. This octa-core processor includes four Cortex-A78 cores clocked at up to 2.75GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores at 2.05GHz, paired with the Samsung Xclipse 530 GPU based on RDNA 2 architecture. The device offers configurations of 8GB or 12GB RAM alongside 256GB of internal storage, ensuring smooth multitasking and ample space for apps and media.

Users will find the phone running One UI 6.1, built on Android 14, with a commitment to receive four years of Android updates and five years of security patches, demonstrating Samsung's focus on long-term software support.

In terms of design, the A55 retains a familiar aesthetic with a glass back and a punch-hole display, now featuring a metallic middle frame and a boxy silhouette. It comes in four vibrant colors: Awesome Iceblue, Awesome Lemon, Awesome Lilac, and Awesome Navy.

The display is a standout feature, offering a spacious 6.6-inch Super AMOLED Infinity-O panel with Full HD+ resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. Protection is provided by Gorilla Glass Victus+, and the screen can reach a peak brightness of 1000 nits while supporting HDR10+ content for an enhanced viewing experience.

Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the triple-camera setup, led by a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilization, accompanied by a 12MP ultrawide lens and a 5MP macro camera. The front features a 32MP selfie camera, and both the main and front cameras support 4K video recording at 30 frames per second.

A robust 5000mAh battery keeps the device powered, supported by 25W wired fast charging. Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, GPS, and a USB-C port, along with an in-display fingerprint sensor for added security.

The Samsung Galaxy A55 5G is available in Nepal in two variants: the 8GB RAM with 256GB storage model is priced at NPR 62,999, while the higher-end 12GB RAM version costs NPR 67,999. Buyers will also receive a complimentary genuine 25W Samsung adapter valued at NPR 2,000 when purchasing from authorized retailers.
