Samsung Reveals Advanced Display Privacy Feature for Galaxy S26 Ultra

Samsung has officially showcased a new display privacy feature for its upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra, confirming months of speculation with a dedicated demo video. The Zero-peeking technology ensures that anyone viewing the screen from the side sees only black, while the user directly in front retains a clear, readable display.

Unlike traditional privacy solutions that simply dim the entire screen, Samsung's approach works at the pixel level. This allows the phone to selectively hide sensitive content, such as private notifications, without obscuring the rest of the display. The system adapts in real time, providing practical privacy whether commuting, working in public spaces, or in crowded environments.

Users have full control over the feature, with the option to manually enable or disable privacy mode at any time. An automatic mode is also available, where the phone detects the user's environment — such as being outdoors — and activates privacy protection as needed. This flexibility makes the feature highly usable for everyday scenarios.

While privacy screens exist on some laptops, such as HP's Sure View and Lenovo's PrivacyGuard, these typically apply to the entire display and offer only an on-or-off solution. Samsung's per-pixel method provides more precise control, targeting specific areas of the screen rather than dimming everything uniformly. This precision could significantly improve usability and user experience.

The Galaxy S26 series will be unveiled on February 25, with Samsung already accepting reservations and offering a small discount for early adopters. Alongside expected upgrades like the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and faster charging, the new display privacy feature may become one of the most discussed aspects of the S26 Ultra, especially if it performs as smoothly in real-world use as it does in the demo.
