Samsung Unveils Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge at Mobile World Congress 2015

Samsung has officially introduced the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge smartphones during the Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona. These devices are scheduled for a worldwide release starting April 10th, with expectations that Nepal will see the same release date as the global launch.

The Galaxy S6 boasts a premium metal body with Gorilla Glass 4 on the back, offering a design that resembles the Note 4 and is considered one of Samsung's best-looking flagships to date. Key specifications include a 5.1-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display with a density of 577ppi, an Exynos 7420 octa-core processor featuring four cores at 2.1GHz and four cores at 1.5GHz, and 3GB of LPDDR4 RAM. The device runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with a revamped TouchWiz UI based on Material Design principles, promising a lighter, better-optimized, and cleaner interface.

Photographically, the S6 comes equipped with a 16MP rear camera with optical image stabilization and a 5MP front camera. Connectivity options include WiFi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1, and support for wireless charging via WPC1.1 and PMA 1.0. The device will be available in White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum, and Blue Topaz color options.

The Galaxy S6 Edge, while sharing most specs with the S6, introduces a unique curved display on both sides, adding an innovative touch to the user experience. It will be available in White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum, and Green Emerald colors. Both models support mobile payments through NFC and MST technology, and feature a home button with an embedded fingerprint sensor.

Pricing details have not been officially announced, but expectations suggest the S6 will be priced around $650 for the 32GB variant, with the S6 Edge possibly reaching around $850 for the same storage capacity.
