Samsung Debuts Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus Flagships in Nepal

Samsung Mobile Nepal recently unveiled its flagship smartphones for 2017, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, during an event held at Hotel Yak and Yeti. The devices are now open for pre-booking, with the S8 priced at NPR 88,900 and the S8 Plus at NPR 98,900. Pre-booking, available starting today and ending on May 2, grants customers a Samsung Level Box Slim Bluetooth speaker valued at NPR 9,000. Sales will commence on May 5.

Pre-bookers will also receive breakage insurance from Shikhar Insurance, valid for six months from purchase, and 8GB of mobile data from Ncell, provided as 1GB per month over eight months and activatable on any Ncell SIM.

To secure a pre-booking, customers can visit the S8 pre-booking website, locate their nearest Samsung Store, and register there. Both models share most specifications, differing mainly in display size and battery capacity. The S8 sports a 5.8-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 3000mAh battery, while the S8 Plus features a larger 6.2-inch display paired with a 3500mAh battery. Under the hood, both phones pack an Exynos 8895 Octa-core processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of expandable storage. They are IP68-rated for dust and water resistance and support fast charging and wireless fast charging.

A notable addition is Samsung's new AI assistant, Bixby, accessible via a dedicated button, though it is not fully functional at launch. This marks the first Samsung flagship without a physical home button, instead using on-screen buttons with force touch capabilities. The fingerprint sensor has been relocated to the back, positioned next to the primary camera. Camera-wise, both devices boast a 12MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera with auto-focus. Additional features include an iris scanner, dual SIM support, and color options of Midnight Black and Maple Gold for both models, with the S8 Plus also available in Coral Blue.
