Samsung Debuts Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro Smartwatches in Nepal

Samsung has officially released the Galaxy Watch 5 series in Nepal, featuring the Galaxy Watch 5 and the premium Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. Announced globally during the Galaxy Unpacked event on August 10, these new smartwatches are now accessible to Nepali consumers.

The Galaxy Watch 5 carries forward a familiar design with options for 40mm and 44mm cases, while introducing a durable sapphire crystal screen protector. In contrast, the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro stands out with a 45mm titanium case, a 1.4-inch AMOLED display, and a unique Digital Bezel that replaces the traditional rotating bezel. The Pro model also includes a magnetic strap and distinctive red accents on one of its side buttons. Both models offer 5ATM water resistance, IP68 ratings, and MIL-STD-810H certification for ruggedness.

Under the hood, the watches utilize the Exynos W920 processor, paired with 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, running on Samsung’s One UI Watch 4.5 based on Wear OS 3.5. This software update brings improved accessibility features, a full-screen keyboard, and the ability to use Google Maps directly from the watch without a paired phone.

Health and fitness tracking has been enhanced with the new 3-in-1 BioActive sensor, which improves accuracy for blood oxygen, stress, heart rate, blood pressure, and ECG measurements. An added infrared temperature sensor further expands health monitoring capabilities. These features require Android 8 or higher and the Samsung Health app version 6.22 or above.

Battery life receives notable upgrades: the Watch 5 boasts a 13% larger battery than its predecessor, while the Watch 5 Pro comes equipped with a substantial 590mAh cell. Both models support fast charging, allowing users to track up to eight hours of sleep data after just eight minutes on a charger.

The Galaxy Watch 5 is offered in Graphite, Pink Gold, Silver, and Sapphire colors for the 40mm and 44mm variants, priced at NPR 39,999 and NPR 44,999 respectively. The Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is available in Black and Grey, priced at NPR 64,999 for the 45mm model. Both models are currently exclusive to Bluetooth and Wi-Fi versions in the Nepalese market and can be purchased from authorized Samsung stores nationwide.
